Anna Friel

Why has no one mentioned Anna Friel in this movie board??? She was easily the best in this movie apart from Kevin Klein. Calista Flockhart was also really good in this. I LOVED her "Oh.... SPITE!!" It was amzing lol

I think Anna Friel is an excellent actress, I was also impressed with Calista too, I was pleasantly suprised by this film.

I had not previously seen any film with Anna Friel in it, though I had heard of her, and was quite pleased when I discovered during the opening credits that she was in this one. I thought she put in a very solid performance, and presented a believable character. I'm going to have to see if I can dig up some more films with her for comparison. I was not so much a fan of Calista Flockhart's verbal work, though it was better than I had expected, and I must confess the 'Oh... Spite' remarks were most entertaining. On the other hand, her physical acting and facial expressions were quite enjoyable.

Yes...Anna Friel did a wonderful job, and so did the actor who played Lysander. I hadn't seen either character that way, but both brought out their personalites.
Calista Flockheart was very good too. And Kevin Kline, I think we all agree, was amazing. =)

She has a much bigger part in another film called "St. Ives," which is hilarious, and totally underrated. Check that out if you like Anna.

YES! St. Ives is a fabulous film! Anna friel was also brilliant in Cadfael - Oh god, what was it called, the one with the Welsh Saint... can't remember the title, must have watched it about 18 times though. Check it out!

I must say I found her much more convincing than C. F.
Calista tended to overdo things and to... over-act, slap-stick-like, if you get my meaning. Entertaining, yes, and her "Oh, SPITE" was hilarious, but Anna's acting was more serious, in a way, but still funny and entertaining.

Was the actor who played Lysander in Mona Lisa Smile? I might be wrong, especially because I was practically asleep the whole way through Mona LIsa Smile, however, I did see a resemblance...
I thought Kline completely stole the scene in this movie... BRILLIANT! He is hilarious... I think Calista Flockheart did really well, too, much better than I thought she would do!2

If you like Anna Friel, check out the BBC mini-series Our Mutual Friend. It'll take an investment of time to watch, but it's very much worth it. It's one of those convoluted Dickens stories involving Victorian manners and morals, revenge, hidden identities, fortunes gained and lost, and of course there are multiple love stories.

Friel is also in the World War II drama The Land Girls, which I haven't seen yet.

Anna Friel was indeed a highlight. Love the look on her face when she wakes up in the morning and realizes she's completely undressed. :)
