This is easily one of my all time favourite movies and should have won:
Best Picture
Best Director
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Actor

I really like American Beauty but I love this movie so much more

AB has lost prestige ever since. So you're probably right. If Spotlight won, and that movie is less rewatchable, then this one should have easily won.

This film should have won those for sure.

Correct, the film is a masterpiece, both realist and expressive, with blistering performances from everyone involved.

No way would such an intelligent, artistic, powerful, mature film be made in today’s collapsing, insane, infantilised world.

This a gem to treasure, and share with others.
