Pick up the book Replay by Ken Grimwood, you will love it.

One of the most AWESOME books ever........

You Have a Hard Lip, Herbert..

I followed your advice and ordered it from Amazon.

It was a pretty good read, but I wish there had been more explanation as to the cause of the antagonists condition as well as more philosophising. However, it did get me thinking what I would do if I had a replay and from there, on how those thoughts can actually impact this (my) life.

The ability for the book to make the reader think about their own life is its genius I guess. Thanks for the recommendation.

Ken Grimwood was writing a sequel, but he died - of a heart attack.

except for the fountain, possibly the worst movie ever created LOL. unless you know of Darren Aronofsky already and like him. Okay watch one of his movies and if you don't like that you won't like any others. He's a complete fruitloop.

Great List. I would like to throw Dark City and Shutter Island in it.

reply

Dark City...yes, Shutter Island? Hell no!

reply

I mentioned Shutter Island because like the OP says, he searches for films that question reality. Shutter Island in a sort of way does that throughout it. *Spoilers* at least regarding Di Caprio´s character point of view.

Great List !

Inception copied a majority of the ideas from this film. The only difference was in Inception, it is dreams instead of simulations. When you watch this film, you realise how unoriginal Inception really was.

reply

Carolyn, have you ever read "Uncle Scrooge and the Dream of a Lifetime?" "Inception" is frightingly similar to that.

You can read the full comic (from 2002) here:

reply

The only thing original in Inception is Chris Nolan's ability to make you not care the least about the main characters.

reply

I would say Being John Malkovich, it has a similar vibe/tone.
