The site simulism dot org, which is a wiki covering the possibility of our world being a simulation, maintains a list of such movies. http://simulism.org/Movies
shareTootsie (1982).
(Just kidding, but you figure out how.)
Being John Malkovich (1999)
(Remotely similar, again you figure)
Bedazzled (1967) and (2000)
(Remotely similar, again you figure)
Pick up the book Replay by Ken Grimwood, you will love it.
shareOne of the most AWESOME books ever........
You Have a Hard Lip, Herbert..
Better Living Thru Chemistry
I followed your advice and ordered it from Amazon.
It was a pretty good read, but I wish there had been more explanation as to the cause of the antagonists condition as well as more philosophising. However, it did get me thinking what I would do if I had a replay and from there, on how those thoughts can actually impact this (my) life.
The ability for the book to make the reader think about their own life is its genius I guess. Thanks for the recommendation.
Ken Grimwood was writing a sequel, but he died - of a heart attack.

except for the fountain, possibly the worst movie ever created LOL. unless you know of Darren Aronofsky already and like him. Okay watch one of his movies and if you don't like that you won't like any others. He's a complete fruitloop.
“In my sentences I go where no man has gone before.”
- George W. Bush
Great List. I would like to throw Dark City and Shutter Island in it.
shareGreat List !
shareInception copied a majority of the ideas from this film. The only difference was in Inception, it is dreams instead of simulations. When you watch this film, you realise how unoriginal Inception really was.
shareCarolyn, have you ever read "Uncle Scrooge and the Dream of a Lifetime?" "Inception" is frightingly similar to that.
You can read the full comic (from 2002) here:

The only thing original in Inception is Chris Nolan's ability to make you not care the least about the main characters.
shareI would say Being John Malkovich, it has a similar vibe/tone.
"No sense makes sense."
