Season DVDs

I think they should released season DVDs of "Top Of The Pops"! I know a lot of the episodes have been wiped, but I think it would be cool if they released what episodes remain in the BBC archives.

There weren't any seasons it just ran and ran. It did get pretty repetitive when a song remained at number one for any length of time. Any song that didn't get to number one was usually on fortnightly until it went down the chart.

The regular show was on 50 weeks a year there was also a one hour Christmas edition on Christmas Day and no new show until January. So that's about 26 hours per year. An average U.S.TV season is 26 episodes of 42 mins on 6 discs so it could be done if they wanted to, but who would buy 40+ years of it.

40 Years? Maybe not. But there are plenty of people who'd want episodes from a particular year or period.....and really, after "Pink Lady and Jeff" got released on DVD, every DVD publisher in the entire world suddenly had no excuse for not releasing any even remotely interesting series that has at least some extant episodes.

It says I can't offer MY monsters...so I'll just have to sacrifice yours!

I doubt that they could afford to do it (if it was even physically possible to get enough of the resale rights), think of the problems with the "Only Fools and Horses" DVD's and multiply the problem several thousand times.

Let Zygons Be Zygons.
