Hahahahahaha, first time I've ever heard someone refer to John Lurie or Tom Waits as nerds. Dude, stick to your Star Wars posts. You have no business to be here...jack!

FORM FEET and LEGS!
FORM ARMS and BODY!
And I'll form...THE HEAD! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! What a goofball!

Was it a real fight? I think it may of been just part of the shtick. It was pretty funny.

I just saw the Tom Waits episode with directors commentary. And apparently it was a real fight. The part at the end where Waits says "You're a mess, and you drag me along the safari, and I don't know why." was actually shot in the middle, after Waits got seasick. Lurie says that when they stopped shooting Waits "really let me have it..." Lurie was afraid he was gonna quit. Apparently they didn't speak for two years after this show.

So it all started with the Waits' seasickness.

A few fun facts:

The two fish they "catch" are already dead. They bought them from fishermen and staged it.

At the poker game there's a guy that says "You lose anyways.", but he actually says: "You look silly.".

Anyway I've only seen the Jarmusch and the Waits episodes... But I love it already, this stuff is brilliant and hilarious. The director commentary is a must! I'd love a bite of your sandwich.

You gotta watch the rest of them! The one with Willem Defoe is the funniest.

Also, doesn’t this show remind you of SCTV’s The Fish’n Musician? Kind of like The Fish’n Musician meets Stranger Than Paradise.

I'd love to see the rest of them, but since I haven't seen the dvd in any store here I'm forced to download them on some fileshare program, and it's not easy to find them...

I haven't seen SCTV, but every time I see John Lurie I think of Stranger Than Paradise.

Anyway I can't wait to see the rest of them...

the tom waits episode is also a real treat for fans of the film down by law.this is the closest we'll ever get to a sequel and those two are still funny together.

but jarmush also shows up for an episode-i can't be the only one who still hopes for a swimming sequel where roberto benigni shows john around italy.

I find it funny how seriously people take Lurie's commentary for this show.
