If anyone could point ways to improve this show to put it on par with TF or even higher, what improvements would you suggest?

Having watched both shows faithfully when I was a kid in the 80s, here are my suggestions:
1. Better quality animation. The visual
2. Better use of the ENTIRE cast. On Transformers, pretty much every Generation 1 character wound up being featured prominently in at least one episode. On GoBots, quite a few characters barely even appeared because so much focus was put on a half dozen or so characters.
3. On a related note...better-developed characters. Marvel's input into the back story of each individual Transformer was huge. Most notable to me was Starscream, with his repeated efforts to usurp Megatron, or Wheeljack's "mad scientist for the good guys" routine. GoBots had NOTHING so intriguing, and they desperately needed it.
