Believe it or not.....

As a child I liked this BETTER than the more popular Transformers!!!

For 3 reasons:

1. With a very few exceptions all of the autobots were CARS OR TRUCKS and all of the villainous decepticons were airplanes but in gobots the type of vehicle and the affiliation of the character did not matter, in fact the equivalent of Optimus Prime was a JET PLANE and the equivalent of Megatron was a motorcycle. As a kid I did not see why all the villains had to be planes and all the heroes had to be cars, I like that they mixed it up.

2. They were technically CYBORGS as opposed to ROBOTS because in a later episode it was revealed that they all had ORGANIC BRAINS like people. The episode showing an x ray image of their heads was actually kind of creepy but I thought it was really interesting. Even at this level of tech it was not possible for a computer to have true emotions a "soul" if you will so the brains were BIOLOGICAL. I liked that!

3. The STORIES were better, transformers was more about the spectacle and admittedly the spectacle was cool but Go bots focused more on the stories than the action, the 2 compared to each other like Star Wars and Star Trek with gobots being more like Trek. Even as a child I was more compelled by the stories than the action.
