Of course because Bernard Erdhart died 6 years ago this idea would probably never happen but it's always nice to use your imagination.
If I were to make a live-action GOBOTS movie,I'd take some cues from the cartoons and the toys.In the cartoons, some of the GoBots(like Scooter and Crasher) have faces, which give them more personality.I'd have them look like they do in the cartoons, even with their boxy looks and not "update" them like they did with the recent TRANSFORMERS movie, where the robots now look like generic metal-monsters with no personality. In order for a live-action GOBOTS movie to work,we can not have 85 minutes of giant robots flying around, shooting laserbeams at each other, hitting nothing! The characters have to be fleshed out.In the cartoons,we know very little about Hunter,Nick, and A.J.'s back- grounds and their connections with each other.I'm not saying build 85% of the movie around the humans and very little on the Gobots, like they're probably going to do with the TRANSFORMERS movie. The Gobots are just as important as the humans themselves. For the sake of logic, there has to be some kind of backstory to the Gobots. Why do robots from a planet light years away from Earth happen to transform into Earth-like vehicles?
Okay so I haven't thought that far ahead. I was thinking about Michael Bay and Steven Speilberg, who co-directed the Transformers movie, but considering that most people, for whatever reason, have it in for Michael because of what he did to the Transformers I may go another route.
