Alonzo getting out the shot up car..

It looks like he trying to get to the trunk..even holding out the key ready (although the trunk had been all bust up).. I guessing he must've had a shotgun and or automatic weapons in there as would be expected for a cop and especially gun crazy Alonzo (maybe we even see guns inside the trunk earlier I can't remember) so its like he was making a futile effort to get there.. (we saw earlier hed lost his handguns in Eva Mendes' flat.. and had the revolver taken away before he could get it, and he obviously has no gun on him as surely hed have it in the car ready and even fired back at the Russians ..)

But if that's so...

..why wasn't he armed already with whatever was in the trunk ? He should've had a piece nearby just in case (shotgun or whatever) .. he knew the Russians were looking for him.. if hed had say an Uzi or even a handgun he might've been able to fire a few shots at them before they opened up and maybe even escaped..
