Mysterious bullet - Alfonso & Hoyt balcony fight

I never noticed this until now. When he slams Hoyt onto the table and chairs and then approaches, we see a bullet hit the wall behind, with sound effect.

It makes no sense. Who shot?

Was it a mistake by pyrotechnics and the sound effects guy put the sound in to match?
