They never really explain or show what exactly Alonzo did to get the hit called on him. I know he beat up a Russian mobster and then it was either pay them a million dollars or he will be killed. Was it just that simple?

And there are many plot holes and garbage in this movie, the most obvious being how the hell they would have enough time to dig up Roger the drug dealers drug money when there superb intelligence is something along the lines of "We came bustin through the door with a warrant and Roger shot the guy from pulp fiction who ass raped Marcellus Wallace twice then Jake Hoyte took him out with a shot gun". Then Denzel would say some shyte like "Ohkay ahallright Y'all undastahnd"

shareThe movie wasn't about alonzo it was about Hoyt, err I guess about both of them. Yes Alonzo had some runn-in with some russian guy in Vegas and that's all we know. Personally the only relevance of that is it helps to fastforard the whole plot and put Hoyt and Alonzo in a situation where they need to made some fast decisions quickly and without all the facts, and that I think is the more important detail / fact of the film
