Anyone think the writer of this movie doesn't know *beep* about drugs?

I find it kind funny the little things in this movie that just aren't quite right. Some of the references to drugs are well...comical at times. For example everyone in the movie refers to ecstasy as "X" when everyone that I've ever heard of refers to it as "E" also when Ronna sells the fake "X" to some kids she tells them " to TAKE a lot of pot with it, like a lot of pot". Any pot head worth his salt knows ya don't "take" pot, ya smoke it duh. And when Ronna gets set up by the undercover cop he acts so friggen obvious it's ridiculous. I suppose he could just suck at it and be nervous but I found it to be a lil unrealistic personally. There may be more examples of this in "Go" but it's been a while since I've seen it and I am rewatching it (about a 3rd into it now) so I'll have to report on that later. Thoughts?

In the nineties, X was shorthand for it. There's a lot of different ways to consume pot, as you know.

Eh, people used X as short for ecstasy. Probably more commonly said in the 90s, but it's not unprecedented. Yea, taking pot is an odd way of saying that, but I didn't really notice. I thought it was meant to be more comical or some cute crap. The writer is clearly no Harmony Korine. But that's probably a good thing.

hey OP , both your points are pointless , and so is the undercover bit. And you can eat pot btw.

What? The world of a movie didn't coincide with your personal reality? I'm shocked!

Thoughts? Just out of professional curiosity.. what are you on?

Many times, in the 90’s, with party drugs like MDMA the name comes from what’s being passed around at that time and usually describes its form. Names like chocolate chips, blue and whites, and wafers would be common examples of names to associate a certain type of X.
