What really happend to Brink in the end? SPOILER WARNING

First of all, how did they stop his greed for more life crystals?(that starts another topic, shouldn't the aliens also be greedy?)

Second of all, why had he aged so much? Did the life crystal consume his life in age also?

Well I'm quite certain that it isn't explained in the game but if it says something about it in the book or if you have any idea's, please comment. thanks!

I can only explain his life crystal addiction: when he was revived, it wasn't really Brink who returned to his body. Sure, it had his memories and characteristics, but he started to act quite different, irrational and violent. The Inventor/Creator alien explains it when you talk to him, I believe.
Now, when Brink returns at the end of the game, that's the real Brink who died when falling down the nexus. That Brink never had a life crystal addiction.
Probably the aliens that used the life crystals became addicted as well - that's how they found it the crystals were actually bad. Hence the warning in the shape of a skull when Brink and Boston find their stash.

The aging, I don't know. I think I read something about it somewhere a long time ago but I can't remember. I can guess, though: I think Brink aged because he has been dead quite a long time, as opposed to Maggie who died fairly recently.
Another guess would be that it was a side effect of using the life crystal on his body - some kind of cellular acceleration perhaps?
Another possiblity might lie outside the story and be more technical in nature. Perhaps the original script had something or other to account for Brink's aging - however, after some changes we don't get to see it in the game, but they forgot to take out the image of old Brink as well.

In the novel, the aging is Brink's punishment for misusing the crystals.

Looks like you forgot to take your anti-retard pills again.

Alright, thanks all. Now I can rest easy:)

But feels kind of harsh to punish him for it:S
Seeing how they made the same mistake...

Brink looks normal in the next scene when he enters the spaceship for earth.
