Anyone else think

Did anyone else think Sebastian came off as a little gay sometimes? Before you think I'm trolling (I'm not), I'm not saying throughout the whole movie and I realize that he was a womanizer. Just some of his mannerisms, the way he talks, and the way he carries himself, he seems like a pretentious gay guy.

There is in Western civilization a very long history of pretentious straight guys. They acted effeminate so that women would like them, in the same way that women like puppies and kittens.

Yes, I know what you mean. Some of the inflections in his voice had a very ...sweet undertone. The way he would sit also came off a little sweet to. I think the actor was trying to evoke pretentiousness but it didn't come across well. His facial expressions and the way he carried himself seemed off.

I thought the same. I don't care if he is but it seemed the case.

Metrosexual?

Yes! Absolutely! I remember the first time I watched it, being very surprised he was straight. Now after many many years of watching this film my feelings haven't change. He comes across as extremely gay in this.. strange.

I never thought he came off as gay. He was from an upper class family that lived in an affluent area of New York. His mannerisms and the way he carried himself is usually indicative of someone from that type of background. Given too that it was a modern re-hash of "Les Liaisons Dangereuses," and that dealt with French aristocrats, everything about Sebastian seemed to fit.

I found him to be a little feminine.
