Possible homages to other shows/films?

Was "rewatching" HOTS now that Netflix has brought this great show to us once again.

Notice a couple of possible (though perhaps just coincidental) homages to other shows and films.

One was when Albert is playing cricket with all the other white residents and he looks at Karinde off at the sidelines and Karinde waves to get his attention. Albert then whacks the ball from his cricket bat high in the air and directly at Karinde where he catches it with great flourish before throwing it back into the game.

That was like "A League of Her Own" then female black players were not a part of the women's league--but in one scene a black woman in a dress on the sidelines catches a ball that has been hit very hard--then she throws it back into the game and nods at the catcher as if to say "I can play this game too!"

So two people of color in these respective countries and games who were not allowed to play was highlighted.

Another one, but probably not intentional, dunno, was in Sport of Kings when Hilde calls the old man Van Der Vuurst "Daddy" "Oh Daddy" before he kisses her creepily.

This was like one of Susannah Harker's defining acting moments and also a really infamous moment in the original "House of Cards" when she's with creepy old Francis Urquart in a scene (which I won't describe because it's a big spoiler for those who may not have seen it).

Anywho, "Daddy!!!" was a big moment in "House of Cards." And in Sport of Kings Hilde kept saying "Daddy!" to Van Der Vuurst. Ick. LOL

Did anyone see other possible homages I might have missed?
