Holland and Holland rifle
Any knowledgeable gun enthusiasts who can identify the Holland and Holland rifle that Burkitt buys [after Valentine shoots it so brilliantly] in "Hide in Plain Sight"?

shareIt isn't accurate for 1931. That double rifle has hammers. I have a reproduction of the 1910-1912 Holland & Holland catalog and H&H was not making double rifles or shotguns with hammers in 1910. In 1910 H&H was making hammerless sidelock double rifles and shotguns as well as single shot rifles and bolt action rifles. Doubles with exposed hammers would have been considered obsolete in 1931. They certainly were among the wealthy by 1910. I guess there is a possibility that if a customer was willing to pay the price the company would have done a onetime order like that. For what it's worth it appears to be what is described as a back-action.
Hope this helps. Good series though. Sorry it didn't continue.
Thanks much. I, too, would have liked more episodes.
