Yes some American's love this show

First off let me say, I love this show. I found it by mistake one night flipping through the channels. I've read a lot of comments about Americans ripping off Canada. Well that happends everywhere. I'm sure not every single song or tv show seen or heard in Canada if genuine nowadays that's impossible. But I think the show is terrific. I've actually never seen any episodes of Cold Case, so I can't really compare the two. But as far as all of the "America Bashing" it's funny because if American Tv is so crappy. Then why are there so many Canadian actors over here ON our tv screens and not supporting there own country?

I think we up North are glad that "Cold Squad" is being enjoyed elsewhere as well; especially since the U.S. entertainment industry is saturated with similar shows, which spill over into other countries - it's hard to match originality with quantity. That's sort of the reason for the angst, added to the fact that "Cold Squad" predates the acclaimed "CSI". That's also part of the reason a number of Canadian celebrities move to the states - to utilize that large market and gain wider exposure.

This was my favorite current TV show, until tonight,
when it ceased to be shown on the local TV station.
Last Wednesday there was the first part of an episode
where the star of the show came back from vacation
to discover that her entire department had been disbanded
while she was gone. TO BE CONTINUED
Tonight, channel 20 in San Francisco isn't showing part 2,
is showing Law&Order Criminal Intent instead.
I looked through the episode guide to see if the last
show of the last season was TO BE CONTINUED, but
no, that's not the case. Channel 20 simply stopped showing
it right in the middle of a cliff-hanger.
Does anybody recognize the plot and can tell me which episode
of which season I saw last week?
Spoiler: In part 1 she revealed she had an abortion while away.

You were watching deadly games part 1, season 3 premier.

The network I watch Cold Squad on was airing the same episode but they've taken it off for cold case.

I'm in the same boat. I was enjoying Cold Squad reruns in San Diego every week on Saturday. Then I moved to Minneapolis and a the same season was being shown on Sunday, Stephan McHattie had left the show....to be replaced by a cylon. Then the show switched to channels, days and seasons. WGN from Chicago seemed to have lost their effort od support for Canadian t.v. Da Vinci is now once a week and Cold Squad is gone.

I feel for the viewer that lost out on seeing the continuation of Season 3. A lot happens. These stations need to stop messing with fine t.v. programs. And the show needs to be released on DVD. I only have season 1.

Bring Cold Squad back!!!

Neither episode 3.1 or 3.2 has any Storyline or Synopsis, so
I can't confirm your answer. Would somebody who is sure of
the episodes please add Storyline or Synopsis to these
episodes?

I am SO happy there is a Sleuth Channel now. I loved Da Vinci's Inquest, and now this great show has made it to this channel. Great exposure for a great cast and show.

I must add in here that Cold Case never really blew my dress up. Maybe the writers? Actors? I don't know why. Cold Squad has many of the same qualities that my fave Da Vinci's Inquest has, especially the Vancouver setting... really love to see it!

I don't want to say that Canadian TV is better than American or British... all are valued and great, most times. And sometimes, not. Actors go where they need to go, to furthur their careers, or work on a project they believe in, and of course, sometimes it's just for the money. Canada has a lot of really great actors, and I'll try to get to know and enjoy them all, if given the opportunity.

I'm an American expat living in Mexico, and I didn't see this show until it was on cable here on AXN. I watched it religiously for about a year, but never saw all the episodes, only about 3 or 4 seasons worth.

I do enjoy Cold Case, but agree that it is a pale imitation. What I liked about Cold Squad is that there wasn't always an easy resolution.

I hope someday to get the whole series and watch it from beginning to end. Canada has some great shows that aren't as well known as they should be to the rest of the world.

An American here who loves this show and who hasn't bashed anything Canadian. In fact I just got back from a trip to Vancouver and Banff. It's hard to believe this show has anything to do with the awful Cold Case. I am hoping they are not connected and people just think they are due to the names. I love McCormick and Julie Stewart. Too bad I am not up in Ontario where I can see her on stage.

I'm an American, and I love this show. I wish half our shows had the kind of quality I find in Canadian TV.

I'm another American who loves this show. Unlike some of the people who responded before me, however, I can't stand Cold Case, and I tried my best to like it. Every time I see an episode of Cold Case I feel like apologizing to Canada.

Hi, it is good to see that this show is still being appreciated not just here but in the in the USA . The show was well written, well acted and character driven as opposed to other shows which relied on special effects and controversial props etc. I tried to like Cold Case as well and thought it was ok, but never really achieved the chemistry that the Canadian show had.

We've been first with a few of these types of shows, one being Street Legal which predated L.A. Law, was better in my opinion and I think was the template for it. I thought that Street Legal, though not my cup of tea, has a cast that worked well and naturally together to make that special blend of people. Perhaps these Canadian shows having casts of actors who had 'walked the planks' in stage and theatre and were not 'stars' made for a more cohesive troupe.

If you like Cold Squad, I urge you to try and find Da Vinci's Inquest, Intelligence and another brilliant but short lived little show called The Border. I loved all of those very much because they had great casts, a wonderful feel to them and assumed that viewers were not just passive lumps but had brains, and while being entertained would be willing to pay attention and think about what was going on.

I think that Canadian writing is willing to more influenced by our former Colonial power across the pond. We've learned from the Brits not to be afraid to think and ask questions, but also to be able to poke fun at ourselves and recognize and portray our shortcomings with some confidence that we'll 'get it'.

I discovered this show by accident a few years ago and love it!!! I had the same problem where the cable channel it was broadcast didn't show them in order and skipped seasons. I never did get to see season1, that is until the other day on Amazon when I had my own little Cold Squad marathon and saw season 1 through 3 in order in one fell swoop! Hope they add the other seasons!
