I am trying to remember the title of this episode or what show even that this was from.. It was one of these 90s type shows (Outer limits, twilight zone, fact or fiction). This is what I can remember about the episode:

There is a military group on this base (it might have been on a beach), and there is like this little other world these army men can see into. This other world is just like a bubble, that has a house, a tree (maybe a swing), and a nice happy looking family. The military starts shooting ice cubes at it to see if this other world ever opens up. One of the military men falls in love watching this family daily. When the portal/gate opens he jumps in, he runs to this family... and the family ends up eating him/biting him or something weird once he approaches them. Any ideas? I have been wondering what the episode is called for years.

The series you are thinking of is called "Night Visions." It lasted one season in 2001 and aired on FOX. This episode is called "A View Through the Window."
I have noticed that this one comes up a lot. Great episode and certainly a memorable one! Hopefully we'll get a dvd release of Night Visions someday.

Omg! I saw that episode some time ago but I will never forget it. It was creepy but it was awwwwwesome!! It's good to know that others liked this episode as much I did.

I just checked this episode out and wow, talk about appearances can be deceiving. It's sad that there's no English language version uploaded but just watching it is creepy. I don't know why we get all the stupid reality crap BS when they are capable of showing far better like this stuff.
