Favorite season? Least favorite season?

My favorite season is the 2nd :) the show was really on a roll during it. Frakes made his debut and it was just fantastic.
Season 4 is close too! Really fantastic stuff in season 4 as well.

Least favorite season is 3. Idk did anyone else feel this had a few clunkers early on? But it got better as it went along :)

Great show

Oh, that's a very difficult question, because I think I've got about an equal number of favorites from all four seasons...well, no, excluding season 1--but that's only 'cause it's half the length. ;) It's a very strong season even without Frakes' iconic hosting, and got the show off to a great start. I liked Brolin as well; he simply didn't have that perfect spark for the show that made it FULLY come to life with Frakes. I have more favorite stories and overall episodes than an actual favorite season, I think. In fact, I once posted my top ten or fifteen stories from each season on this board...but the boards refresh every so often, and old stuff gets deleted. :[ Think it was too tough for anybody to respond to, anyway. xD I definitely love some stories more than others, though there aren't any I dislike. I maybe used to at one point have season four as sort of an overall least favorite, but that may have been because I had never seen them until I bought my DVDs. It took maybe a couple of views for some of them to become as beloved and classic to me as the rest of the show.

Season 4 has a different voice over in the opening song that annoys me a bit but you get used to it
But really I'm going through the whole series again and it's amazing how good this show holds up. It just never gets old. And there are so many great episodes it's impossible to pick favorites.

Season 4 I saw less then the others. I've been going through them and remember them but not as much as seasons 1-3.
Like one I didn't remember that was creepy as anything was when that girl was housesitting and the tv kept turning to a guy in a basement with a shovel 0_0 freaky.
Then there was ones I remembered right away like the one where the girl suddenly knew karate to beat up this attacker on her way back to the dorm 0_o lousy story.
Though not as bad as the weatherman who was lying about his forecast and his car got taken by a tornado I knew it was so fake.

Yeah, Campbell Lane instead of Don LaFontaine! I love both, but Don is more *the* voice of BB! But I quickly grew to accept Campbell's as well instead of always expecting Don. :3

Aw, man, I feel the exact same way! This would literally be among my top five TV shows of all time. I can watch it endlessly and never grow tired. 225 well-developed, fully-realized individual segments means way more "bang for your buck," in a manner of speaking. Choosing favorites and trying to narrow them down is SO hard; I have loads.

Yeah, when I purchased my DVDs (first the German season 4 and then the entire series in English, save for the one story that nobody has), I was watching the last season for the first time. I had only been able to see the first three on TV. It was awesome to be able to see ones that were completely new to me.

"House of Shadows" is definitely one of my favorites, and I think it's one of the scariest! Reminds me of "The Ring" in some ways.

I like "The Dorm," but it honestly isn't one of my favorites. "The Weatherman" was a funny story, but totally weird, and it was pretty easy to guess that one. My favorite story from that episode is easily "Room 245," although Nick from "Sit-Down Comedian" is really cute. xD

Omg Room 245 is excellent! Easily one of the most memorable from the whole series run! Creepy as frick.
When I was younger I'd watch this and hope certain stories were fiction cause they were so creepy

I KNOW, that one is so freaky, eerie, and scary! I've read and seen other versions of that story, and BB did a great job with it.

Lol! That makes sense. I was usually hoping for my favorites and the "coolest" ones to be fact, because it's neat to think that they actually happened...but then I eventually got to thinking that it didn't REALLY matter...they were just as awesome even if they were made up, as many of the all-time best stories in the world have been. xD And you never know, they could all happen..! ;D

This is impossible because every season has 13 episodes except season 1 which has 6 episodes. Each episode has 5 stories. So now it's 30 stories for Season 1 and 65 for each other season to examine. That's a lot.

I sort of liked Brolin better than Frakes because sometimes his stories would be longer and then tell a very short one where we'd have to use our imagination. Frakes never did that. This was OK for like every 2/3 eppys.

Frakes though always seemed to have neater toys and displays for his stories and I liked his repeated lines of "what happened next..." and "what really happened"

I sort of like Season 3 opening credits how it shows the subway tube. It sort of had the feeling of being in an MRI machine.

While I liked Don's voice over better Campbell had a catchier voice over.

So it's really hard to choose a Season, even single episode.

I mostly agree. It's an extremely difficult question, because a show with five stories per episode just inherently includes a ton of variety within each season. It was easier to pick individual favorite stories. :) (My thread about that has disappeared by now...I think the idea of going through the whole show and doing that was a bit intimidating! Totally natural for me, though.)

I'm one of those fans that prefer Frakes, but also love Brolin. The two stories he told were quite interesting and well done. I wouldn't have minded if Frakes had been given a few of those, too...but at the same time, I'm happy with the show and the stories as they are. Frakes' dialogue, expressions, mannerisms, appropriately cheeky yet mysterious and sometimes eerie attitude, set, and props represented the series attaining nearly its full potential. After a very good first season, they figured out how to make it absolutely great. I'm very glad that we have the six Brolin eppies, but think it was for the best that the rest got the "Frakes makeover."

The title sequence and voiceovers, in all their variations, are sheer masterpieces...some of the most chilling, recognizable, memorable ones in all of TV history. The subway is an excellent touch, indeed. Don was perfect--but if he sadly had to be replaced, Campbell was the man for the job. Again, I love both and appreciate the unique sounds and qualities they brought.
