viewing this film will change your perception of cinema


okay, i had to watch this film at the school of visual arts in the early '80s. since then, i've searched out everything of brakhage's i could get my hands on. jonas mekas was valuable in this endevor. dog-star-man is also incredible. i continue to seek out everything i can by this director that had a singular, revolutionary vision. also try to see jud yalkut's (fluxus group artist) films. especially "clarence" (1965-'66). i had a hard time finding that, but he kindly sent me a copy!

Too bad this is the only enjoyable flick he's made. What an *beep* :D

i didnt enjoy it all that much and felt alienated by the choice to keep the film silent. he didnt convey any of the beauty of giving birth, which could have been helped by music and the graphic shots were out of place and unnecessary

More accurately, it's only one of the 50 or so enjoyable flicks he's made.
