I liked the series, but I wasn't pleased with the ending. Hitomi is all, "I like this place, I want to be with you........ - Peace, Out!"
Leaves for no realistic reason in my opinion. There's the whole "She didn't belong there" thing, but I don't buy that.
Personally, I didn't like it either. I hate to be overly mushy or sentimental but I wanted her to stay there with Van. I mean, come on!
The only explanation is that she couldn't give up her life on Earth and all the ties she had to it.
