Escaflowne would make an awesome live action movie.

I love this show and I think that with a good director/writer, good visual effects team and a good budget, Escaflowne would make an AWESOME live action movie! But it would have to be at least 2 hours long or maybe even split it in to two or three movies. As long as they stay true to the series, and don't do what they did for escaflowne the movie, which was still cool in its own right. If the story is well written, it could make for one of the best epic fantasy films ever!
Too bad that M Night Shyamalan messed up The last Airbender. What i have said in this post also applies to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Last Airbender should have been an amazing start to an amazing trilogy. Also, A well done live action Record of Lodoss War would be awesome. Thoughts and other ideas?

I'm really against turning animated media into live action, because the transition often butchers the product. What I would like to see is a full, 39-episode remake series as originally intended, with all the stuff they had to cut out, and an Evangelion rebuild-level animation budget. No doubt the guymelefs would look badass when done right with CGI.
