has anyone bought this dvd copy? is it any good?

reply

Yes - please tell us how it looks/sounds. There were some pretty sketchy copies floating around and I'm waiting for the real deal.
Thanks!

Yes, I've bought a copy and it's pretty good quality picture and sound. Plus it's the full length (just over 2 hours) version.

I also bought it.

Video quality is fine for Standard Definition TV, but I think the audio lacks quality. Too distorted for my taste, but it's still worth the money.
It's a keeper.

Mine showed up yesterday. I watched it today. Twice! The video is certainly better than my old Betamax copy and the audio is 2.0 but lacking bass in some spots. Then, I have to admit I used to listen to this quite loud in the "old" days and was not listening to it as loud today.

BUT, loud doesn't always mean bass. However, it still sounds better than the tape copy (NO HISS!!).

Yeah, thumbs up on the DVD. Definitely worth it. I don't think you could hope for a better transfer from VHS. The menu is great. Nice picture disc too. The only thing I noticed that is missing from the DVD that is on the original tape is about 10 seconds from the end of "999" into the "Fleshtones" that shows these 2 girls standing in the doorway of what looks like CBGB. Anybody else notice that?
