Broomfield is a square

Only reason why people let him film them is cuz hes funded by the BBC. Even though i have no experience in filming / documentaries i could easily do a better job than this guy if i were backed by the BBC. Kinda makes me sick how this mediocre man can make a living out of something he is so horrible at. Give someone else a chance, someone that actual knows of Kurt and his music.

Are you serious? I liked his commentary and easy going vibe. And at the end he had the balls to stand up and out Courtney and the whole sham of a Journalist integrity celebration - that was awesome.

reply

Actually he annoyed the hell out of me. After a while I couldn't stand how he would continue to interrupt people while he was interviewing them. Why ask someone a question for them to answer and then continually interrupt them while they are trying to answer them??!!

reply

Do you think that the BBC would continue to fund him if he was rubbish?

The quest for a board without a troll goes on........

duh, thats all the BBC makes

Television stations fund people who bring them ratings/advertising money. That's why Jerry Springer is still on the air.

reply

So interviewers aren't allowed to get to a point? He had a documentary film to make and did a fine job not being led by his guests, save some things he couldn't help. If he wanted to host a talk show, he wouldn't be doing this. This isn't an interview on The View.

True, just like Nancy Grace.

reply

He was extremely annoying. He was the worst interviewer ever.

reply

I thought he did an awesome job--and he had balls of brass at the ACLU thing.Courtney IS a meglomaniac slag and can't stand it when people stand up to her. This was an engrossing film and a lot of that was owed to Mr.Broomfield.

Wow. Xenophobic and racist. You people display the brains of something I flushed away this morning.

Of course Americans are the planets foremost authorities on everything.
Thanks for dropping by WWII. You were late. But then, you probably couldn't find the borders of your own country.

Not all Americans hate the English, and not all English hate the Americans. Unfortunately, online, people often get angry and find anything they can to insult the other poster. This is one poster who is fond of the English and has many English ancestors. I can't hate my own DNA.

reply

I am from the U.S. My spouse, my friends, and I...LOVE the English! Do not pay attention to the small percentage of wankers (& trolls) that relish the sound of their own voice (& keyboard) as they argue without merit. It's rather embarrassing that this ignorant slice of Americana should be lumped in with the general population when considering our values as a whole.

While the xenophobic and racist undoubtably exist among us - and have the constitutional right to do so - most U.S. citizens are not like-minded. Unfortunately, the narcissistic sad-sacks (often uneducated) get so much media attention that decent people abroad then think we're mainly that way, or of the polar opposite....like the Kardashians. Hell, no. :)

It's hard to say anything nice about Aileen Wournos, although I do pity her for her childhood. Come to think of it, it's hard to say anything nice about Sarah Palin, either.

when he did biggee and tupac film, many wouldn't talk to him. he's a hugely respected film maker who was cutting edge at the time.

MTV was the one that was funding this but due to Courtney Love threatening lawsuits on everyone and pulling all Nirvana music from MTV, they bailed. BBC had to.

Tom Grant's movie gives validation to Nick Broomfield and his movie.

reply

lol, Broomfield is good man, but his style doesn't neccesarily involve heavily researching before hand, he rather discovers the story in the process of making the documentary. and rather the making of the documentary plays almost larger part than the subject. this style is quite an attractive approach especially for film makers like louis theroux or michael moore, but really broomfield champions it.
