Anyone who would recommend it?

I'm a big fan of Björk but I never saw that movie. Is it worth buying the DVD on internet?

Please help me for my unsolved cinema researches (see my profile, thanks!)

You can try at www.amazon.jp
I mean, even the imdb links http://imdb.com/title/tt0138545/sales
I've got the Japanese version, and I think it's not the greatest. There is no documentary, the only extras are two trailers for the movie, on in English and another different one in Japanese.
Good luck.

Sorry, it seams I didn't read your post entierly. I thought you meant where can I buy it online. Well, as the trailer sais, it's and adult film, meaning that young people don't understand it or might get bored. Its very beutifull movie, but takes it's time.
Björk, I thought, was wonderfull. So if you rely rely love her, then it's probably worth buying just for her, even if the movie might be boring for you.
Personaly, the slow feal dosn't bother me, I like it. But I understand why not everyone dose. So, in the end, no one can say for you if it's worth it or not.

Thanks for your message. I found a copy of it but I haven't watched it yet. I love Björk and I generally love independent slow movies so I might like it. I'll tell you...

Cheers

YES!

Definitely! This is a truly beautiful movie!

I'm a movie maniac AND also a big Björk fan. I got to know this movie only through Björk but I think that it's really great.

The movie really feels like a fairytale (it is based on one). The feeling of it is just phantastic, the black & white creates a special atmosphere and I love the actors, not only Björk is grandiouse in it! The unique icelandic accent makes it very special to me (I'm Austrian).
The story is VERY sad but at an extreme high artistic level I never expected from this little pearl.

It is it really worth to buy it on DVD.

Do it even if you like only Björk!
You won't regret it. Björk is simply phantastic in it. She creates a huge part of the offered athmosphere.
Support this movie, it's a masterpiece and I don't know anything similar to it's unique style.

It's not only a fairytale, it's more... enjoy it!

And something else: You can hear Björk singing even pretty often in the movie, one more reason to get it!

I gave it 9/10 here on IMDB. It's a pitty it isn't well-known.

If you want to see one the best movies ever check out Dancer in the Dark (WITH BJÖRK). That one is probably the sadest movie I've ever seen. It's HEART RIPPING, so watch out. I think this is the only movie ever that me cry.
Lars von Trier created with Dancer in the Dark such a great masterpiece it's nearly unbelievable. And I tell you, that one is really hard and worth gold.

Hey, if you enjoyed Juniper Tree and like Björk, let me know please!

I NEED THE ENGLISH SUBTITLES please

But... isn't that movie in English ?!

Yeah it's in English and quite clearly comprehensible for anyone who has a handle on the language. New English speakers might have some problems, but no more so than with any light accent. Brogue it ain't.

Anyway.. I just finished watching this movie and I'm absolutely flabberghasted that there are only two threads on this board. This movie is AMAZING. It's unlike 99.99% of anything else out there. It's incredibly atmospheric and startlingly beautiful. The editing is so well done that the pace is just as slow as it should be and not a frame longer.

This movie reminded me of Antichrist but without the savagery. It's a haunting little gem that will stay with you. In fact Iceland is now on my list of places to go before I die. It's seriously an unreal land.

PS: And do get the version with the director's interview if you haven't already. She gives many worthwhile insights into the movie and its development.

Would you happen to have any... flan?

I would recommend it. I love the beautiful black and white cinematography. The score is wonderful too and helps enhance the mood of the film. It has a poetic, haunting quality to it. Björk is fantastic her. This film deserves to be more widely seen. Check it out if you get the chance. My rating is an 8/10.
