The closing dance number

I must say that I, myself, found this film highly entertaining and refreshing. The closing dance number featurinbg the entire cast with Bobby Short "playing" his version of the song "Nagasaki" was a RIOT... Gary Beach playing the trombone in handcuffs, the huge bodyguard playing the bass fiddle & himmeying, the gay couple jitterbugging, the staunch Anne Jackson character melting and getting a smidge 'naughty', cozying-up to Bobby Short. I personally screamed with laughter. :-) I found it right up there with the closing cast dance number in THE IMPOSTERS.

Johnny to the tramp: "Hit the bricks, small change, you're crampin' my STYLE!!"

I have to agree - it is hilarious. Makes me laugh every time. For some reason, it reminds me a bit of a scene late in Vivacious Lady (Ginger Rogers & Jimmy Steward & Beulah Bondi & Charles Coburn). Bondi's been playing sick for years ("Oh, my heart...") whenever overbearing husband Coburn annoys her, or whenever she doesn't want to deal with somthing. New daughter-in-law Rogers & Bondi's nephew are onto her deception and in one scene, the three of them are doing a cross between the Charleston or Black-bottom. The other two dance into the other room leaving Bondi to really cut a rug just as Coburn enters, shocked to see his supposedly invalid wife going to town.
