I really love that movie

especially the dancing scenes are a very beautiful, clear, pure unit of dance, music, costumes, stage design + lightning... can´t get enough of it!

all persons are well acted; and claire + matt (rebecca yates + russell page) are stunning and endearing, i find.

REBECCA YATES` talent in acting is really amazing, (very expressive with eyes, face, body) - but she´s a dancer, never acted before or after this! when she is dancing her movements are undescribable graceful (running rebecca´s not so very dainty (grin)): there are 3 women dancing exactly the same - 2 of them look the same, the 3rd, outstanding, is rebecca yates.

RUSSELL PAGE had a little expirience in acting; and outside 1 overdoing he is as expressive as rebecca yates - and: he also was not an actor, he was a dancer, as outstanding as she: graceful, powerful, skillful!

MARTIN HENDERSON is cute in this film: chaotic, untidy, friendly, loyal ... and funny!

still very young RHADA MITCHELL´s person is not so very likeable; but she acted good.

PAUL MERCURIO worked out that beautiful choreography. he was involved in casting and in the film he plays more or less himself: a ballet dancer and choreographer, working out "romeo + julia" with 10 dancers "from street".

if you have the chance: watch it!
the story is not so new, nevertheless told in a fresh, amusing way. it seems like it got something from "american pie" and something from "billy elliot" -- but if you gripe about it, think of this: this film is the older one!

in the meantime i got "the merry widow" with rebecca yates and "urban clan", a documentary about "bangarra dance theatre" in sydney and about those three brothers russell (dancer), steven (choreograph) + david (composer) page; history, background, and beautiful, such stunning dancing!

it´s too sad that russell´s dead - such a dissipation (? prodigality? profuseness?); (but worst is for his family.)
