I've seen it and I find it really "unnecessary" and a very silly thing...yes, is a comedy, but what a waste of time!! and then, why catherine zeta-jones is ALWAYS so fakely impeccable (and not only in this movie...)?!?! I hate that pose...

shareI hated it.. but I dont think I totaly got it....I mean, Cohen movies are usally funny in a black humorus kind of way... but i think this movie had the same jokes and humor as a highschool-film gone bad...so I prob. didn't get it!

This at least had irony -- I dare you to try to figure out why so many good actors committed themselves to making "Sling Blade." And, no, I'm not suggesting you spend the money or time seeing it.

I honestly thought this movie was really good. Catherine's character in this movie is supposed to be a sly, sexy woman who is only trying to gain the wealth of her ex-husbands. That's why she always looks so "fakely impeccable" as you put it.
sharei actually couldnt say if i liked this movie or not, some times i thought i liked it, others times i hated it and found it boring. Its a bit hit and miss. Maybe if i watch it again some other time i'll like it better.

That's one of the few moments in the film, where my face moved (I wouldn't say, that I laughed), otherwise I was b-o-r-e-d.
What a predictable plot all the way. Even the part where the hitman "mistakes" his gun for his inhaler. Now why did we see so many close-up shots of his inhaler - well, because the thing had an important role later on.

It was an excellent film, a fine blend between screwball comedy and witty humour with very clever and sharp dialogues, sometimes hard to follow, definitely need a playback. No vulgarity, excellent acting, great photography, many fun scenes, hardly anything to reproach. I understand it doesn't appeal to everyone though, too sharp for the dimwits you know. ;)
