So was that supposoed to be his cousin?

When he's doing drugs with that girl at his family's party, is that his cousin? If so that's f'd up because he then eats her out. Yikes, is that a gay Greek thing to eat your cousin's "baklava"?

It was Johnny's sister.

reply

No, it definitely wasn't his sister.

I've never been clear on the point if the girl is just a friend, a distant cousin, or a "real" cousin though.

I have the book "Loaded" which the movie is based off and in the book, it's Johnny's sister.

Sorry I just realized you said "Johnny's sister" in your previous posts. I thought you meant the girl was Ari's sister...

I thought that this was a metaphor (whether she was his friend Johnny's sister or his cousin) to underline the almost confusing, almost'incest-like' relationships between people in the ex-pat community in Australa ... where people are forced to play many different roles for one another because their alienation from the broader community forces them to look inward to others from their own group to try and satisfy all their needs ie. Ari's constant feeling of claustrophobia ... you might have to eat your cousin's 'baklava' if no one else even recognises the cultural importance of 'baklava-eating' to you ... or does not make it or offer to share it with you
