sex scsne between sean and ari

THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM:
I know it might sound an insignificant detail (but it is clearly not, because it is clearly on the basis of what happens sexually between these two men that we are meant to conclude that Ari is likely to continue on his self destructive path ... and cannot redeem himself even when offered another option by or with Sean ... and it seems to be on the basis of what happens here between the two of them, that he says 'sorry' and then delivers his sad soliquey at the end of the film on the quay
But at the risk of being stupid: what actually happens between Ari and Sean during this sex scene ?? Okay it does not dissolve in the two making passionate love ... although even with it all being in the dark it clearly suggests they both come, which is after-all the aim of sex
Clearly Sean was not pleased with Ari's 'performance' but WHY ?? For awhile I thought it might be because Sean was possibly self identified as 'straight' - and once he had come he suddenly turned his self loathing onto Ari - but that would be to focus the story onto his journey ... so it should have been he who should have been recognising a few home truths at the end
From what (little) I could see, he clearly allowed himself to be penetrated by Ari, and so although post-coital remorse can still occur if he really loved him he should have been glad
But instead of their savouring the moment he immediatly starts fighting with Ari and throws him out ... and Ari then starts whispering 'sorry' ... So what DID I miss in that overly dark scene ?? He wasn't using Sean because Sean wanted it ... and if it was agressive, come-on, I have seen far more in terms of men just being focused on coming ... I agree it wasn't particularly romantiic but they were clearly both stoked and HOT ... and wanting to get it on
So what was the sudden problem ?? And why did it move from love to complete alienation in a FLASH ??
WHAT DID I MISS ??
Thank anyone who can enlighten me ... and apologies if this all acts as SPOILER

I just got through watching the film. I think the reason Sean threw Ari out was that Ari was getting too rough with him. It turned from an erotic encounter between Sean and Ari, whom Sean was definitely attracted to, into Ari aggressively forcing Sean into rough oral sex. I definitely heard choking sounds (sorry to get so graphic, but you asked).

BTW, My favorite character in this film was Tula. Remember her line in the taxi - "Your great grandfather raped my great grandmother".

You missed quite a lot.

I have no idea how you got that they both came in that scene. Sean did not.

There was no penetration, in the strictest of senses. Sean was giving Ari a blow job.

The film clearly shows that Ari has a propensity for violent sexual encounters. It could very well be a reflection of his own self loathing. He took what was suppose to be a loving making session, with Sean telling him beforehand that he's falling in love with him, and made it one of his usual selfish, violent sexual escapades. He had Sean by the head during the oral sex and toward the end began pumping his face extremely aggressively. He treated Sean exactly like one of his random, seedy, back alley hook ups. Sean was insulted or off put by this, pushed him, than Ari PUNCHED Sean and that's why they fought. It had nothing to do with Sean's sexual identity or any thing in that realm. Ari got thrown out because of his wicked, violent behavior.

Thank you very much for your reply Jaquen ... it certainly seems your version of the DVD was much brighter and better than mine ... and I really appreciate your filling in the details for me :-)

My pleasure.

Sean got upset because Ari started treating their romantic encounter as one of his random hook ups by making it very rough.

It is hard not to sound condescending when you are explaining things to an idiot!

Thank you very much Markup ... that was what I thought too, but watching the movie on my own I wondered if I had perhaps missed something ... I really appreciate your taking the time to respond :-)
