Come On! Someone Else Has To Love This Movie, Too

Wow-I'm really bummed that there isn't more interest out there for this movie. I saw it and I was completely smitten. I read the book afterwards, which I know makes a big difference. I liked both-alot-but the movie, as downright cheezy as it was in some parts, was so freakin' right on when it comes to falling hard for a lead singer. I have a little bit of experience in that realm and the truth about it is that it is kind of cheezy being a groupie even though it feels so consuming to the person crushing.

I also thought all the actors did a great job and it was a very interesting cast. Will have to check out Can't Hardly Wait for that reason. Plus the music!!! I have to say, I felt I had a soul-mate in either the screenplay writer or the novelist. Completely shocking that both where male.

Yeah, I love it too. It's in my top 40. :)

I absolutely love this movie and would kill to have the soundtrack, especially for Cybil's song. I love Tara Reid and Dominique Swaim in this as well as Christoher Kennedy Masterson.

Big fan of Dominique Swain's. Saw her first in Lolita and fell in love with her work.

I read the book and i love it! I really wana see the movie but cant find it anywhere! do u have any idea wer i can get it? or maybe download it????

The songs (todd sparrow's songs and cybill's) were actually written and sung by the director Jon Kahn who now is in a band called The Color Green and they play in Los Angeles. I love this movie so much, it's so good. And I can really relate to it, although it wasn't a singer I was falling for, but I was almost like a groupie. And I too grew up. This movie is somewhat "underground", I think that makes it better than if it were really popular.

Yeah I went for a drummer. Big mistake. Such a man whore, lol.

Now I'm with a different kind of drummer... traditional drummer. Who's much sexier and a lot more caring than the other band drummer.

Love this movie, it's one of my faves. :)

I am not a fan of the music in the movie, but for some reason, the movie really spoke to me. especially the mystifying dominique swain. there's something about her voiceovers that I loved. anyway, I never read the book, but I will probably read it soon.

Me, me, I love it too! The best line ever:

Andrea sees Todd Sparrow on stage and says, "And then God created Man and I wanted to thank her..."

"It's all right Andrea, everything's all right."

Loves it!

I just bought it on DVD from deepdiscountdvd.com
they have amazing selections and pretty good prices. It was 19.99 but it's worth it since NO other place has it. The DVD had director's commentary and Dominique Swain's commentary

It was just one of those movies that I caught randomly on HBO at 3 in the morning (coincidently right after seeing a concert). I've been smitten ever since. I LOVE this movie.

Even aside from the whole groupie aspect, the way that they dealt with sexuality and life in general was pretty impressive. It could have turned into a Skinimax groupie porno or a cheesy after school special but it basically stayed on track and gave surprisingly smart insight into Andrea as a character and the kind of crap that goes in the minds and surroundings of many girls at that age. Cheesy moments aside it's a good flick.

This is by far my favorite Dominque Swain straight-to-tape B movie. “Intern” comes in a close #2 of course :)

This is only the second movie I've ever commented on here. I had to. The only single comment listed was grossly misrepresenting the film. And obviously all of you agree. I grew up in the Portland area, the setting for the movie and it was like watching a little part of my life on screen. But I know that it isn't just because of that. Well, you can read my comment if you like. I could go on forever about it. Aren't there any guys out there ever who see a movie like this and want to be that guy for some girl. The sweet seducer with a soul. But of course he turned out to have issues. But don't they all! I got this movie about 5 years ago and it is still one my top 10 favorite films. I can't help it. It's my heart exposed on film. (My Todd Sparrow is Ewan McGregor...and oh so badly...help, help. And no, not because of Moulin Rouge, waaaaaaaaay before that). If you loved this movie you should see "A Slipping Down Life" with Guy Pearce and Lily Taylor.

It's not an obsession, it's a way of life.
