This is what the Da Vinci Code could only hope to be...

And I'm speaking of both the film and novel. Gabriel Knight III is a far more engaging story, both in terms of fleshing out the historical theories and being an intriguing mystery. It's unfortunate that most people first discovered the controversial source material in the book. Dan Brown? No thanks, I'll take Jane Jensen anyday. Agree, disagree?

You got it. Totally agree. Even Jane Jensen's take on vampire lore is among the best, if not THE best, and believable version I've seen - better than Anne Rice AND Bram Stoker.

I totally agree with you. This story deserved better than the crappy Brown's book and the crappy Howard's movie. I am so glad I've discovered it first in GK3.

I'm wondering why they don't want to make a movie (or better - TV series), based on GK... Of course, the wow-effect now is completely destroyed by Brown, but still - these games offer so much more.

I have to agree with everything that has been said here. While I was reading the overrated Da Vinci code all I couldn't help comparing it the whole time to this game which is far superior on virtually every level.

A film based on GK3 could be far better than the Da Vinci Code one which suffered because it had to follow the book with an unnecessary cliff-hanger every couple of pages.

Completely agree with this - GK is much better than Dan Brown's book - hands down and no one will ever remember GK because it's a video game - if it had been a book - we'd be saying Dan Who?

(Well unless of course you read Angels and Demons - which is actually REALLY good and much better than the Da Vinci Code - check it out if you liked Robert Langdon but couldn't stomach the Da Vinci Code.)

I agree. Awesome game.

I agree, I played the game before reading the Da Vinci code and I MUCH preferred the game. Like everybody else has said, it's much more engrossing and explains things better. Plus it has Gabriel Knight who's quite possibly the best computer game hero EVER! And he's voiced by Tim Curry(in the first and third installments)-all bow down to the god that is Tim Curry!
If anyody wants Gabriel Knight 4 to be made check out - http://www.gabrielknight4campaign.com/ sorry-don't know how to make it clickable and can't be arsed to figure it out, copy and paste that's the way!
I know it probably won't do any good, well we can but try. The Gabriel Knight games were my first love and I love them still - why don't they make games like this anymore?? It's what got me into gaming and I've never looked back. I'm re-playing GK3 at the moment and I'm fu*king loving it!

AGREED!

I remember replaying this game, with my extra laptop on the side with wikipedia handy.

And it was SOOO much more engrossing to play and read about the works and places that actually exsists, like the vinigoths, the castle, the church nand albiongenis crusades.

I remember reading the Davinci Code book and i thought...well this is familiar.

I need to play this game again!!
