The movie started off fun and quircky but the ending left way too much unresolved. His mom and Jonathan aare the two main points. Sometimes an ending that leaves things open is good. It shows that the characters keep going even if we don't get to see it but here it just felt like an abrupt end.
shareMom will accept it. Dad seems cool enough. Eric will go to NY. He meets Jonathan the DE again and that could lead to something since he is a DR and Eric is into music. Rod used him. Shame cause he had a cute/kind/playful smile (like Satan).
shareThat's the entire point, there was nothing to resolve because them dealing with Eric's identity was their own journey and he moved on with his own.

This is one of those movies where I wish they had done a bit more happy ending to it, for personal reason but also because I think that this movie is quite important, it's a great movie on its own, but it's also a very good movie about a teen coming out as gay and dealing with the gay world and the straight world at home. It could leave young gays who have yet to come out at some kind of loss, put them more in a situation where they don't know what to do.
Not every gay has an older gay life coach like Lea after all.
