His first ever movie, is he ashamed of it?

Why isn't it available?

Is he ashamed or what, he shouldn't be, all filmmakers gotta start at the rock bottom, even though their films tend to overall be of poor quality...

Even tarantinos "My best frends wedding" is watchable but of course really very poor compared to his well funded films like Reservoir Dogs. But quite interesting to see what he could do with zero budget!

You can take any director, even the greatest of all time, and I'm sure they are a tad bit embarrassed of some of the stuff that dad kept in boxes. haha I mean, I'm sure Picasso drew some pretty bad stuff when he was starting out... BUT it is also what it is... the work of a kid in high school.

Even with great rock bands... people find demos from some garage band when the lead singer was 16 and you know what it, it never sounds as good as when the singer's new stuff as a polished musician. The same goes with filmmakers.

Steven Speilburg made a movie called Firelight when he was 16 years ago. It's a very rare film that looks pretty STUPID! I even bet Speilburg is embarrassed a bit himself when he's forced to watch it. The same way actors get a bit embarrassed on talk shows when the host shows the audience some clip of the actor when he was struggling and filming ads for ketchup or car insurance. I remember years ago, on Leno, they showed John Goodman in this old footlocker ad he did in the 70's and he looked awkward sitting there. ;)

The only people who can love The Dirk Diggler Story are PTA fans. It's fun to watch, just knowing that you got to see a piece of PTA history but aside from that - on its own - its nothing anybody would be proud of, maybe not even PTA himself.

and we generally say, "Well, if that was in a movie, I wouldn't believe it.
