Spheeris Dated One of the Punks

Someone mentioned that this film seems to be very sensitive and sympathetic toward the punks. A side note that needs to be mentioned is that Spheeris actually had a relationship (continued for a while even after the project) with one of the street punks. I remember when this movie came out and reading an article about it and her discussing her relationship with this homeless punk. I'm hoping maybe there is more about that on the DVD when it comes out. Interesting stuff.

Eyeball. She said something about him being mentally ill or something like that, and that was one of the reasons it diidn't work out.

I realize this is years later, but Eyeball used to be my roommate in the early 90's before this film. He is absolutely not mentally ill. He's cool as hell and still playing punk today.
