disastrous - sad to say.

The film cost $75 million to make and grossed under eleven million. It
is easy to see why. Apparently, it was in theatrical release for a brief period because I missed it altogether. The list of flaws is really too long to list here. Surprisingly awkward construction and concept delivery. Also, Depp is miscast in this one.

Wow...had not realized it cost that much to make! It just felt SO unfinished. Someone else posted that it felt like really bad editing and I tend to agree, but it also feels a lot like the writer(s) really didn't have a clear direction from the very beginning. I mean, the ending was so tacked on! The acting was great, but it also seemed as though on occasion even the actors were wondering what was going on!

This film was all over the place.
It had great potential, the idea of an alien taking over a human is beyond scary.

But it lacked direction, and the ending was awful! Some types of films 'work' with a Bad-Guy Win, but others do not.
This one did not.

He did the movie before he became a huge box office star with Pirates so no.

I'm not sure where the $75 million went because it sure wasn't up on the screen. It looked like a made-for-SciFi-Channel movie to me. Even the "payoff" where the "aliens" were revealed at the end was a low-budget letdown.

It also didn't go into hiring a qualified electrician to install GFI outlets in the bathrooms or kitchens as required by code
