How did the wife explain the astronaut's disappearance at the end?

Where did he go? Was there a body left? How did she manage to go on with her life without explaining his disappearance?

She blames her sisters murder on him and then says she planned his death in self defense

***Spoiler alert***
I'm sure the government would have figured out a way to hide the details and made up a story. At least that's the vibe I got from Mr. Reese (when he didn't go into details as to what Natalie's autopsy report uncovered about her babies), that NASA was aware of what had happened to the astronauts.

Or she could have easily convinced everyone that her husband went crazy after the space accident, which again from Mr. Reese's comments, there were physical abnormalities in both pilots, especially when compared to the tests prior to the accident. Spencer ended up killing Nan and wanted to kill Jillian. All she had to say is he committed suicide by electrocution and she escaped.
