Ending preposterous?. . . SPOILERS

She pulls a gun on her husband in public and on tv and he stays with her and she doesn't end up having her children taken by the Dept. of Children and Youth?
She doesn't end up put in a psychiatric ward because of her outburst? I suppose it was supposed to make a point about how women are overwhelmed but the outcome in this movie is ridiculous.
