Now that Carol's gone

This show's just gonna fizzle out and die now. In my opinion, the show was never as good when Richard died (and I know that couldn't be helped but it's true). Now Carol's gone, the whole show's just gonna go downhill. Shame for the first show on Channel 4, and a shame that it couldn't see 30 years but this is gonna be the worst decision that the Countdown bosses have made. Maybe they should just end the show now to prevent further embarassment...

I couldn't help but wonder the same. Whoever it was who said 'the show survived with Richard Whitley and it'll survive with you (to Carol)' well that theory really is being put to the test now.

You said it! That post was embarrassing. Who on Earth would care to remember that, even make note of it, and worse, feel they'd achieve something by posting it on a message board.

Sad.
