WORST BEST PICTURE WINNER OF ALL TIME!!!!!!

HOW MUCH MONEY WAS EXCHANGED FOR THE TAINTED OSCAR WIN?

reply

Not even close....

Not in my top 15 or in my bottom 10 Best Picture Winners .... It's a solid movie that isn't a great movie but clearly the committee has made many brutal decisions (Out of Africa, The Hurt Locker, The King's Speech, Unforgiven - just to name some more recent ones)

reply

It's in the bottom five along with The English Patient and Crash.

reply

Agree. I had to tape my eyelids open to make it through this sludge.

BOR-RING....

reply

The Hurt Locker and Unforgiven were both very deserving of the Best Picture Oscar.

reply

The King's Speech and Unforgiven are a million times better than Shakespeare in Love. But to each his own.

reply

No, the Last Emperor is the worst.

~ That's much too vulgar a display of power, Karras.

reply

Obviously, none of you have ever seen THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH.
Talk about the worst!

reply

i personally don't care for it much, i think it's a bit dull, but i feel the same about quite a few best picture winners. i don't know if i would call it the worst.

reply

The Academy made the right call on almost all of those.
Crash was a terrible choice, but it was a weak year. Good Night and Good Luck should have won.

reply

Shakespeare in Love had a very clever screenplay with fabulous actors. It deserved to be Best Picture. The soundtrack was also sensational.

reply

zzzzz....zzzzz....

reply

I totally agree with you. The movie's humor is increased the more one has studied SHAKESPEARE's plays ~ this is a good thing!

reply

The OP's stupid comment is about as valid as the old query, "When did you stop beating your wife."

You can only spout silly conclusory statements without any substance, but you don't actually contribute anything to the discussion. Out, out, damned spot!

reply

So agree!!! How did this turd beat Saving Private Ryan... Oscars are crooked!!!

...And yet it almost makes dirty politics almost seem like a deity.

Honestly, I think that's what they were going for...
