Historically, men were respected, even revered, and they always had an important mission to prove their value and nobility. They were allowed to dress in bright, beautiful, even 'feminine' clothes (by today's standards), the Samurai and Scottish heroes were dresses, as well as ancient chinese men, and it was normal.

Suddenly we live in an era, where men have no use, people spit and piss on them, and their rights have effectively been stripped. A pointing finger from a lying woman is enough to send an innocent man to jail. A man's life is worthless now, men are expendable and easy to replace. "Do you take.. this man", could just as well be 'any man', since the men are all dressed the same, only the women have individuality.

In this kind of matriarchal oppression, where no one cares what any man has to say, or if their needs are met or not, as long as they slave away as a good workhorse, men have become increasingly depressed, anxious, feeling they have no worth, no place, nowhere to go, nothing to do, but make corporations richer as a nameless cog in the system that doesn't respect or value them beyond how much they can work or what they can do for the system, then they're installed in an institution and pumped full of pharma drugs until they finally die, and no one remembers them enough to even piss on their grave(s).

Men have no big cause anymore, no great war, no great depression to survive through and use as an opportunity to prove their worth, and everything they do is wrong, their sexuality is completely reviled, their role is narrowed to a very inhuman, even subhuman level, where they can't deviate.

Women can wear pants, no problem. A man wanting to wear a dress? Transsexual, weirdo, pervert, disgusting!

Anything a woman does is celebrated, from their period blood smearing 'art' to their dildo jokes and small penis jokes. A man even mentions anything remotely erotic even as a joke in a workplace, and he's immediately fired.

Men have no place anymore.

Men have no purpose anymore, men have become valueless, useless junk, it's impossible to feel like a valuable human being in this world that hates men and yet claims women are the victims in everything, while they have opportunities men can't even dream of (man can't quit racedriving to start a successful Onlyfans career, a woman can (a real-world example, by the way!)).

Men are told they're evil, they're criminals, r*pists, murderers, wifebeaters. It's a message constanty hammered to innocent men's skulls; STOP BEING EVIL!! (Especially if you are hetero and white)

Is it any wonder men understand this movie so deeply? It offers an 'out', it shows this world is actually very wrong for men, it just doesn't work for men - women can fulfill all their dreams from their sexual ones to their utopistic ones - little girls practice marriages and then they're prepared to fulfill that dream when they grow up. Little boys play with rockets, cars, guns, dreaming of being astronouts, conquering space, becoming superheroes or inventing something glorious.

When a woman and man marry, only woman's dreams become fulfilled, man has to GIVE UP his dreams at that point, as 'childish fantasies'. Somehow a woman's childish fantasy comes true, and man's doesn't. But women are the victims, we're told, so men aren't allowed to complain.

What can you say about a man that complains? Can anyone respect such a man? Can he even be seen as a man? Women complain all the time. Women can do anything without losing respect and adoration from men, but men can't slip even for a second.

A successful MCA fighter flinched once in one match, and that was enough for his girlfriend to lose ALL respect for him, and she dumped him on the spot. One single flinch!

This man was a very buff, muscular, well-trained, high-status alpha male, but he flinched, so he has to go.

This movie tries to describe the world men have to live in, and how miserable this world is for men (and how women don't see it).

It's a love story. Guy likes girl. Guy's a loser. Doesn't know how to be a real man. Turns himself into something worth wanting. Goes out of control, and luckily puts a stop to it before he loses the girl completely. Gets girl. They hold hands.
