Bob Recognizing the Narrator (Spoiler)

Something new I just realized: when Bob runs into the Narrator on the street, he starts telling him all about the Fight Club he has joined, and also calls him Cornelius, his alias at the support group. Basically, Bob hasn't seen the Narrator since the support group and has no idea of his involvement with starting Fight Club. The Narrator is surprised to learn that Fight Club meets on nights other than Saturdays. At this point in the movie, we still think Tyler and the Narrator are two different characters, so we can see this as Tyler going behind the Narrator's back and expanding Fight Club.

However, since we later learn that the Narrator is in fact Tyler Durden, wouldn't Bob have seen him at the Fight Club meetings he attended and started calling him Tyler instead of Cornelius? Unless the Narrator/Tyler was absent at every single meeting Bob attended. Even still, it feels odd to me that there never is a scene where Bob suddenly realizes that his friend "Cornelius" is in fact the legendary Tyler Durden, and would start calling him Tyler from that point on. The Narrator clearly has a strong affinity for Bob, probably his only real friend in Project Mayhem, so it seems odd that in their time socializing, Bob would never at one point start referring to him as Tyler, which would be Narrator's first clue to the truth.

He was following the first rule

OP, I just watched the film again had the same thought. Although, it is possible that bob was just going to another fight club has they mention they set up all over the place and Tyler foreshadows with the dad talk.

"******* settin up franchises."

Even if the narrator said he "went on saturday" technically he should have been there every night, S-F as Tyler, Sat as narrator/jack/whatever.

What if Bob is also the Narrator? Slide.

That's it. Tyler doesn't attend every Fight Club meeting.

It's not that unusual. After all, Marla's with him several times and never calls him Tyler either.

You are sin.
