Fred Williamson Grindhouse Classic

This movie is almost always talked about as being very bad and yes, parts of it are (in a fun B-movie way). However, Mr.Williamson has said this was shot for under $100,000 and you have to take into account that this is a one man show and at least this film is never boring. The location photography is fantastic and I liked the music score. Fred was 40ish when this was shot and is in excellent shape, looks great and even has some brief nude scenes. The plot is standard stuff, but for Grindhouse style cinema, the movie is done in classic 70s style and at times a bit bizarre (the scene on the train with the hit woman is hilarious!). The Code Red DVD has a restored print and a whole film commentary from Williamson. Williamson comes off as a bit of an egotist, but I think you would have to be that and very aggressive to get an independent film like this made. I will be looking forward to finding more Jesse Crowder films on Video. Thank you Fred for a very entertaining film.

In all, I liked it. I'm a fan of low budget 1970s flicks being 20 at the time. The frequent theme was "Do It Anyway You Wanna" a then-recent hit by People's Choice (November,1975) a lively disco dance tune.

i disagree with the location photography,
while the film looks good because it was shot with panasonic equipment,
williamson and whoever was behind the camera failed considerably in making the most of the locations used, the viewer barely gets a sense of where they are and then the movie moves on to another location or indoors into a cramped room
