Worst ESPN employee

Who are you the most sick of seeing/hearing?

Dick Vitale - He couldn't even be critical of Satan. Vitale likes every team, every coach, every player. Anyone who dunks is a "PTP-er". Every freshman that gets playing time is a "diaper dandy". C'mon Vitale: cheerleader or analyst?

Chris Berman - The stupid nicknames. The overused Howard Cosel impressions. His one SportCenter appearance per year. His cherry-picking of other gigs (i.e. when he shows up to call Yankees vs. Redsox or just so happens to cover the World Series)...

Stuart Scott - My vote goes to Stu Scott. Listening to him speak, it is as if he always has to prove to everyone that he's black. We get it. We just don't get why you have two different colored eyes. Furthermore, he's also on every single ESPN spinoff...NBA on ABC, Stump the Schwab, Dream Job, etc. Memo to ESPN...he's not that funny. Oh and, guess what Stu? I don't care about Jeter, Tiger, the Yankees, Kobe, D-Wade, the Redsox, or Terrell Owens, so "booya".

reply

Kenny Mayne. He's not interesting, and his voice is boring.

Top 10

1. Dana Jacobsen-anti Christian comments
2. Mike Greenberg-sick of his femme attitude. Is he gay or something
3. Stuart Scott for trying to act all gangsta ALL THE TIME
4. Dick Vitale-it will be "awesome baby" when this has been retires
5. Danyelle Sargent-isnt she the one who got Harold Reynolds fired for harrassment?

6. Linda Cohn-ugly and biased NY Ranjerks fan
7. Chris Berman-I know there'd be no ESPN without him but so what? His comments are dumb and so is he. Now that its safe, let him go

8. Keith Olbermann-I know he's gone but he's still a %**%* liberal

8.5 Michael Irvin-is he fired or what? Typical druggie and his voice sucks too damn loud

9. No list would be complete without loud mouth Stephen A. Smtih, nuff said

10. Scoop Jackson-biased in more ways than one (race)

Stuart Scott has no peers in this catergory. He is HORRIBLE. The worst part is, he's been at ESPN for something like 15 years. How is that possible? His eyes look just like the ones my boxer puppy has. They go the wrong direction and give that "I'm totally stupid" look all day long. I hate Berman too, but he's about 2 cheese burgers away from having his heart explode, so I'm not worried.

reply

Linda Cohn, for some reason she just really annoys me. I agree about everyone else mentioned previosly. Id also add Mike Patrick in there. Seems like the only mens college basketball games he ever broadcasts are ACC games and theres a good chance it is involving Duke.

reply

While I agree with the crappy ACC/Duke basketball games that are always on, I think Mike Patrick is one of the best play-by-play guys in the business. Hell, he made a women's college basketball game seem excited. Ironically enough, it was a Duke women's college basketball game.

reply

Yeah, but all those other people you guys mentioned are not on ESPN nearly as much as Scott, Berman, and to a lesser extent, Vitale. ESPN pimps those three as much as possible.

reply

i can't say who i dislike more berman or scott. if i had to choose it would have to be berman. his tired, tired, tired, cliche's make we want to hurl. example, "back, back, back, back, gone!" or, "he.....could....go.....all.....the.....way..." nauseating...

reply

I'd have to say Tom Friend from Jim Rome (and I think he writes for ESPN the magazine). He always says the dumbest things about topics like when Kobe was elbowing people he accused him of only elbowing "three white guys". Also most of the people that always hype up teams I hate.

reply

Tony Reali is Max Kellerman's dumber, more boring twin. That's a bad thing because I want to beat Max Kellerman up. Also anyone on NBA Shootaround.

Also, rag on Stu Scott for his catch phrases all you want but leave the eye thing out of discussion. It's completely tasteless. The reason Scott's left eye droops is that he was hit in the face with a football a few years ago at a New York Jets practice and nearly lost sight in the eye. He suffered a split lens and cornea. Seriously, grow up.

reply

I think it's Neil Everett. I can't stand this guy. I mean the way he talks sounds like he has a frog down his throat. And he tries to sound like he's all excited and he over does it so much.

reply

Scott's lazy eye is not what bothers me, it is the fact that they're two different colors.

reply

The only people on ESPN I'm into are John Kruk, Bill Walton, Harold Reynolds, Ric Buecher and sometimes Marc Stein. Those are the only few that dont sugarcoat everything like tools.

Like Bill Walton would be the only one to admit The Kobe and Shaq Lakers got stomped in the playoffs while everyone else looks for injury or chemistry exuses.

WORST: Greg Anthony comes to mind because he acts so biased. He calls Ricky Davis selfish yet I doubt he trashed guys like Payton and Zo who whined their way out their contracts to gravytrain their way to a title. Now that was selfish.

reply

Well...Payton and Mourning were free agents (Alonzo was bought out because his kidney-thing only allowed him to play in a handful of games). To your point, however, Ricky Davis did lead the T-Wolves in assists-per-game this season.

Bill Walton is a joke. He overstates everything, "This is the best i've ever seen _______".

reply

By far, I can't stand the "look ma, I'm black" Scott, his phrases are annoying and he is friggin everywhere.

While the eyes annoy the hell out of me, I wouldn't bad mouth him about something like that, it just seems wrong.

reply

dude they are all good man... and KENNY MAYNE is a ledgend on sportscenter hands down... come on now sportscenter is the best show ever

reply

Kenny Mayne is the effing man. Other then that they are all okay. My favorites are the two dudes with glasses and Kenny and whoever that hot lady is I can't remember her name right now.

reply

By far, my least favorite person on ESPN (though she's usually shoved down to ESPNews in the early morning so no one can see her) is Cindy "I obviously have no idea about what I'm talking" Brunson. I swear this woman has never watched a sporting event in her life and just writes crappy material for herself. I'm sick of her terrible pronunciations of very recognizable sports figures let alone the phonetic ones (today's top pick was "J-Roll" (pronounced: J-RIOTEOHOTSEHAO...ll") and I'm sick of her terrible sports lingo that she uses. Did you know that anytime two hockey teams play, they "skate" together? "Anaheim set to skate with the Bruins." Oh really? I thought they were going to BEAT THE CRAP out of each other, not perform a pairs routine. Now, granted most of the guys who are on ESPNews suck too but I'm not even sure Brunson would have a job there if she wasn't a woman or if her husband didn't work for ESPN (Not to sound sexist... I love Linda Cohn and other ones that are more local (Leslie Guidel has done some work for ABC but she's on Comcast Sportsnet in Philadephia) but Brunson just needs to go away... now.

reply

best of all time is Patrick and Obermann

worst: Kenny Mayne. he sucks, boring, and not funny

I like Berman. he is great with calls

reply

You know, I've been watching SC for years and I'm not particularly annoyed with any of the major ones. There are some that I like the best, like Linda Cohn and Scott Van Pelt, but I tend to pay attention to the highlights themselves more than the anchors. The only ones that ever really annoy me are idiot female correspondents who don't know anything about sports. Nothing against females in general; I love Linda Cohn, Rachel Nichols, etc. just not the ones who are only hired for their looks.

reply

Pedro Gomez. They always have him do reports on location and he never has anything remotely useful to say. Lately he's been tracking the Bonds record chase and his reports usually consist of "Barry Bonds will be playing tonight and batting clean up. Giants Manager Bruce Bochy hopes Bonds breaks the record tonight. Back to you Scott."

Proud Patient of Dr. Tobias Funke

reply

You guys are joking right? What about Stephen A. Smith? He is the absolute worst and is in a league of his own. Talk about somebody who tries to prove he's black every time hes on camera.

reply

Stuat Scott has to win this. Hands down. He is awful on SC. Predictable, grinding. He gimmick is so old. Stump the Schwab is worse. OMG. His "clever" little remarks to the contestants make me want to cut something. The story behind his eye even makes him seem like a tool. He thought he could walk onto Jets training camp and make some noise...whoops.

A name I'll throw out there that I know most people will disagree with is Michael Wilbon. I think he's awful. He contradicts himself both within the same issues and between issues, he backpeddles and has an excuse whenever he blows predictions, when he doesn't have a real point (which is all the time) he just yells over the top of Tony. He pretends to know everything about a sport but then can't articulate a damn thing. He's never funny, which is sometimes needed on a show like PTI. And he doesn't realize that Reali always gives him the win in Take Your Pick as a complete joke.

Anybody see him judging the first round of the "Who Now" brackets (Maybe SC biggest waste of time in the last few years) he cannot debate. He makes no sense.

where do i start, Stuart Scott, Neil Everett, John Anderson, Wendi Nix, Shelley Smith, Cindy Brunson, Mike Trico, Chris Berman, Mark Schlereth, Sean Salisbury, Mike Golic, Mike Greenberg, Steve Phillips, Erin Andrews, Dick Vitale, Colin Cowherd, Jim Rome, Stephen A. Smith, Bob Ryan, Woody Paige, Ric Bucher, Lou Holtz, Meril Hodge, Micheal Smith, Todd McShay, All of their fantasy insiders(its just so stupid that Mariner highlights get bumped til after the break because we have to listen to some fat guy yelling and insisting that no one should draft a kicker before the first round[this seriousley happned a couple weeks ago on ESPNNEWS it out raged me because not only is it stupid, but it also proves alot of peoples point that ESPN couldn't care less about west coast baseball(not an M's fan by the way)])

reply

The worst is Michael Smith, how does he still have a job with espn? I'd say the best anchor is John Anderson, does a great job on sportscenter.

reply
