Do you prefer new or old whammies?

Do you all prefer the New Whammies on the Todd Newton game show or the old ones on the Peter Tomarken show? I love the old ones as they would take the contestants money before hitting themselves or getting electrocuted. Also they looked, sounded, and acted like Elmo from Sesame Street!
The new ones though didn't tickle my fancy as they as they took the money without incident.
Just were cuter with the original ones!

reply

I prefer the old ones.

Ben Grimm forever!

reply

I think that everybody does prefer the old ones indeed!

reply

Having seen both versions of Press Your Luck on GSN, I love the old Whammies more. I always get a kick out of the Skateboard and Bowling Ball Whammies.

I'll have spent one day out there.

reply

The old ones were funnier and also they didn't try to come out and have fun with you. Also, being cartoon-like they just seemed better. However, I didn't care for the one with Whammy and Tammy on the picnic and Fang ends up eating their food and they start crying. Now there I felt sorry for the rascals.

reply

Hey I thought the one where Fang eating
The food was so hilarious!

reply

I hate to be the black sheep here but I prefer the newer Whammies. They were animated better and did more stuff.

reply

Yeah true but the new whammies just
Didn't do it for me but glad
That they did it for you!

reply

My favorites were (are) the "hello, do you know me"- spoofing American Express, "I cannot tell a lie-you lose", and of course, the tugboat Whammy that came when a contestant got the fourth Whammy.

Of course I prefer the old ones!

I'm open! There's just nothing in there!

reply

Another one I liked was the Election Whammy who said, "If elected, I will raise your taxes!" and then gets a pie in the face. I loved the fact that at least he was honest, unlike many of the jerks out there.

reply

Didn't care for their voices there, I guess.

reply

New ones kind of were not right for me. As they say, the original is the original.

reply

no whammies!!!

"Rue the day?" Who talks like that?

reply

Old ones rock, the original is the original as they say!
