Favorite episodes?

Granted, the animation was cheap and there were plenty of continuity errors and repeat footage throughout, but there were some good storylines in some of the episodes. It seems the favorite episode with most Rocket Robin Hood fans is "Escape from the Fifth Demension" with Infinata, arguably the creepiest-looking villain in any cartoon show. However, my personal favorite episode was a tie between "The Living Planet" and "The Manta Menace". Both were similar in that Rocket Robin Hood was essentially featured on his own, without Little John, Will Scarlet, or any of the other Merry Men to help him out (although he finds some temporary new allies in "Planet"). Also in both episodes, the villian is an alien mad scientist instead of his usual nemesis Prince John. And both featured some nifty monsters created by these scientists, Dr. Manta with his mutant plant/dinsaurs and giant spider-crab, and Medulla with his living brain-planet. Did anyone else have any favorite episodes they would like to name or discuss, including the ones I just mentioned?

Wow, you have far more memory retention than I. I loved this show, but I feel blessed that I can even remember the theme song, and the bumpers in between episodes.

I bow to the Rocket Robin-Hood master.

Uh let's see.One of my favorite Rocket Robin Hood stories was MANTA ASTEROID.Uh mind you,I live in New Jersey, and I watched the series religiously when it was aired on one of the Philadelphia stations,WPHL-TV,Channel 17,during the 1960s.I made a discovery recently. When this story is aired on the Canada side, the actual acknowledged title of this story was FROM MENACE TO MENACE.But when it was aired in the U.S.,for reasons I don't know why,the story was titled MANTA ASTEROID (?????).Since this series originally came from the maple-leaf country, the alternate title would have to be accepted as the actual title. But getting to the story....what the heck was that creature Dr.Manta sent forth against Rocket Robin and Will Scarlet...a stone elephant? It looked more like a cross hybrid between a rhinocerus and bull. Was there a problem in the art department or something? I mean, why does the charging beast appeared to be 'smiling' when viewed from the front? This story was later redone in an episode of Spider-Man (PHANTOM FROM THE DEPTHS OF TIME).

Actually, the episode is known as "Young Mr. Ulysses", and the "dead guy" was actually the son of the ancient Greek hero Ulysses, trapped for thousands of years in a comotose state due to volcanic gas until Robin and Little John revive him.

Here my choices

-The Time Machine when Rocket Robin meets his ancestor Robin Hood

-Little Little John when the Sheriff shrinked Little John

-Dementa Five, almost all RRH fans remember this one, Infinita was also recycled for an episode of Spider-man.

-the Incredible Gem of Kosmo Khan

-Who'll kill Rocket Robin? I like the idea of some vilains team-up leaded by the Warlord of Saturn, and 2 of these vilains in this episodes wasn't showed previously

-the Plot to Destroy NOTT, one of the 2 Bakshi season-3 episodes who featured Prince John and the Sheriff of NOTT, (the second one was "Return Trip")

CORRECTION stephdumas: All three of the Warlord of Saturn's henchmen weren't showed previously. Its a honest mistake though. One of those guys,LASER,looks a lot like Robin's other nemesis,DOCTOR MAGNET. If you remember when Robin encountered Laser his reaction was "LASER!" The villain's response was,"AH,WE MET SOMEWHERE BEFORE?" ROBIN: "NO, I'VE JUST HEARD OF YOU!"

I loved the episode how "Little John" first joined the merry men.

Just stumbled onto this thread as I have just bought Volume 2 of the DVDs. Wow, how this brings back great memories.

Volume 2 had most of my personal favorites that I remember the show for. They included:

'Dementia Five' (yes, with Infinata, one of the most frightening animated villains I had ever seen).

'From Menace to Menace' (featuring the skeletal Dr. Manta & his robot beetles).

'Slaves of Medulla' (the 2nd featuring the sinister Dr. Medulla, a creep also featured in the episode 'The Living Planet').

'The Solar Sphinx' (which featured an Egypt-like planet ruled by Emperor Tut, who originally kidnapped Rocket Robin, Will Scarlet & Little John to make them princes, then tossed them into a pyramid when they declined; after they escaped that, Tut unleashed his monstrous, flying sphinx on them, which Rocket Robin & Little John destroyed from the inside).

'Jaws of Steel' (sequel to 'The Solar Sphinx', and re-used a lot of that same footage, except Emperor Tut is eliminated by the Sphinx this time).

These were my personal favorites.
