Rafa didn't want Owen

Come on, let's face it. If Rafa worked hard enough, he could have flogged Cisse and matched or even exceeded tynesides' bid. The Champ League paid out mega bucks, not as if they would struggle would they.

In the Sun on Aug 31st last year, Owen claimed, "Souness and Shepard laid out the red carpet, liverpool didn't even offer a cup of tea!" Sums it up.

Before injury crisis hit him, Owen and Shearer were the duo to be feared. With the exception of ridiculously bad defending from Bramble and Boumsong, We never lost a match with Shearer and Owen on the pitch.

Owen should thank his lucky stars that Souness knew how to use him.....

I think once Steven Gerrard showed up, we didn't need Owen. It's sad but Owen's way past his best, and i'm thankful we sold him.

yeah i think he will get over his fitness dab. But he was as slow as a turkey in the world cup, the jamaica goal was a struggle for him.

I reckon he was fit LONG before the prem ended but didn't want to get injured again b4 the w.cup and with Shearer doing so well he didn't feel needed. He admitted after his leg break that he feels guilty over the way things have gone for him at tyneside. I reckon conscience is playing up on him.
