Update: Once you get past those episodes where she has just moved to New Moon and gets settled the show is a lot better. After watching all four seasons I liked the supernatural parts where Emily sees spirits, but I think overall the writing and what was changed from the books was too dreary. It's like Emily is locked inside this dark home and obligations well beyond her age. She feels like she has to care for weak Laura and disabled Jimmy. I wish they had finished the six episodes for season four. Maybe ended the show on a positive note.
