new anime Emily series gets it right--much better than this show!

Anyone else seen "Kaze No Shoujo Emily"--"Emily, Girl of the Wind?" It's a 2007 anime series based on the whole trilogy, and is much better than this show!

I have a friend who is an anime fan who found it somewhere online with English subtitles but unfortunately I don't know the site :-( In total its 26 episodes. Its available on DVD in Japan but not so far anywhere else that I can see and not with English subtitles.

Oh wow I'd love to see that..I love the novels..particularly the first..but that other TV series didn't capture it so well.

Hey, I've been wanting to see the anime FOREVER but I don't speak Japanese...do you know where I can find it for sale or download with English subtitles?

P.S.: The Canadian TV show is excellent for the most part, but I've also been a huge anime fan (Otaku) since the early 90's and would love to see the anime...

You can NOT compare animation to a serial and this show "Emily of New Moon" (1998) is my all time favorite series. acting, writing, cinematography, directing are fantastic. i loved "Emily of New Moon" characters like; emily and Ilse Burnley, Laura Murray, Jimmy Murray, Isabel Murray, Uncle Malcolm!

In terms of an adaptation from the books, though, the anime is supposed to be leaps and bounds better. This one definitely had its charming moments, but Emily was a bit OOC, Laura was really OOC, and even Jimmy wasn't quite the same guy. Isabel and Uncle Malcolm are characters original to the series, though by the time they were introduced the plot had diverged entirely from the books. So as much as I try to enjoy it as a standalone show, we fans of the books have never really gotten a great adaptation.

And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?

I haven't read much of the book but the anime series, I found Emily's character to be way more hot-headed than the 1998 Emily's "don't mess with me" attitude.
