I need help with this movie!!!

This is a second world war movie.
The british army is entrenched in the woods , cut out from their armies they resist the numerous atempts by the germans to take over their position.
Out of ammo and fighting for their lives , they even get friendly fire when their heavy infantry misunderstands some coordinates.
The general or commander of the platoon is a over weight blond guy , glasses completely dirty , and at the end of the movie , he refuses to go out in the high officers jeep and stay with his batalion that makes fun of the high commanders as they go away.
One part of the movie , there is a quiet moment and then german flamethrowers come in to scene.
I watched this on HBO and I just cant remember the actors name and also cant figure out a title for the movie , tried everything but the memory just doesnt go any more than what I have already written here.
Pretty sure they were british because of the distinct helmet they use , and world war 2 because of the way the germans are dresses.
I really taught it was Zak Orth , but going through his movies I couldnt find the one.
Anyone has any clue what Im talking about ??? It was a very good movie and I am desperate to see it again.
